This rare creature came to us in 2009 shortly after pressing. With its already developed flavor profile, it would be enjoyed now or 50 years from now. This cake was harvested in Lincang from old arbor plants. We found this tea to be savory, briny, with hints of dill and a cacao nib aftertaste to start and working its way through pleasantly bitter old, dry fruit and a long-lasting dense floral finish towards the end. A full tea experience that is thick on the palate with accompanying throaty sweetness and silky mouth feel. You may notice that the wrapper has some "tea stains" from the rich, old arbor leaves, a sign of the flavor yearning to be released! This cake is filled with medium, tender, somewhat broken leaves and buds, and little woody material.
